Video Review - Cellblock Sisters: Banished Behind Bars

Welcome to my first one-off deep dive into the gloriously unhinged corners of PM Entertainment. I’m taking on Cellblock Sisters: Banished Behind Bars, Henri Charr’s PM-financed, Gail Harris–starring, 1990s women-in-prison flick that delivers exactly the kind of exploitation its title promises… and then completely blindsides you by being way better than it has any right to be.

Yes there's a completely naked, pretty damn violent, shower fight scene and they play it as serious and as real as anything Scorsese has ever done. It's breathtaking.

What surprised me (and honestly delighted me) is how hard this film works beneath the surface. There’s a sharp, confident script, performances that go far beyond the genre baseline, and beautiful cinematography that elevates every grim hallway and sunlit yard. In true PM fashion, even a movie with a title like Cellblock Sisters refuses to coast — it commits, swings big, and somehow sticks the landing. If you think you know what this movie is going to be, think again.
