We're joined once again by Jon Cross from the PM Entertainment Podcast and the After Movie Diner, this time to discuss "Night Eyes" and "Night Eyes II." With the first one, we look at where it sits as one of the first of the DTV Erotic Thrillers, the appearance of Cole S. McKay, and the plot holes that we love it in spite of. Then with the sequel, we look at Tweed's introduction to the series, how Andrew Stevens is as a lead, and more plot holes that we love it in spite of. Finally, after the end theme, we have bonus content, where Jon and I riff about Maine humorist Tim Sample, where else in the world you can have a "local humorist," and what a British Stephen King would sound like.

And then with "Private Obsession," we get into why this one doesn't work work for us, and how it betrays the elements of Erotic Thrillers that makes them so good. Finally, after the end theme, we have bonus content, where Jon and I riff about a variety of topics.

With the first one, we look at this as a prison film, the funny names of some of Wilson's fellow prisoners, and the performance by Richard Roundtree. For part IV, we get into how much action is in this, and the combination of Wilson and Gary Daniels, making this one of the best of the franchise. Also, in the opening, I give my take on The Marvels.

With the first one, we look at where it fits with the other great films of 1994, then dig in on what works and what doesn't, including a couple glaring plot holes. Then with the sequel, we get into how many ways it was sauteed in wrong sauce--and there were many! Then, after a break, we get into the erotic thrillers, first with "Dangerous Indiscretion," we discuss why it didn't work as well, even though Joan Severance really sells it. And then with "Payback," it works better overall, but we still try to make sense of Howell as an erotic thriller lead, specially with his mustache in this film. Before that though, for the first hour or so, Jon and I look at where Jim Belushi's career should go after his role in "The Chronology of Water," and then my mention of Sean Connery in the early James Bond films takes us off on a large tangent about accents in the UK and the starts of Michael Caine's and Terrence Stamp's careers. Then we get into the erotic thrillers, first with "Scorned," we discuss Tweed's performance, Andrew Stevens's direction, and the moments we really liked.
