City Lights Entertainment Blu-Ray Review Vol.1 - Hollow Gate - from terror-vision.com
Before there was PM Entertainment, there was City Lights Entertainment, the early proving ground for the madness that would define the 90s direct-to-video action era. Founded by Rick Pepin and Joseph Merhi, City Lights cranked out low-budget, high-energy horror and action flicks shot on glorious 16mm — featuring a lot of the talent that would later define the early days of PM Entertainment - and now, Terror-Vision.com is giving them the Blu-ray treatment they deserve! In this first volume, I take a deep dive into Hollow Gate — a delirious mash-up of The Most Dangerous Game, Psycho, Strangers on a Train, and a slasher movie that somehow got lost in a PM Entertainment fever dream.
Written and directed by Ray Di Zazzo, featuring a delightfully twisted turn by Addison Randall and with a moody, synthy score by John Gonzalez. It’s a strange and fantastic slice of late-80s indie horror that deserves way more attention.
Watch now and find out why Hollow Gate is low-budget insanity at its finest.
