Episode 243 - Ganja & Hess
Jim Wallace joins Jon Cross at Soho Park in NYC to discuss the challenging, weird, sensual, artistic, frustrating, wild and mesmerising African American horror/art film Ganja & Hess (1973) after they watched it on the big screen at the Roxy Cinema, Tribeca.
It's one of the only other films that stars Duane Jones of Night of the Living Dead fame.
On the surface a story of vampirism as addiction but also it's a lot more than that. Up there with George A Romero’s Martin for art house horror. Although Martin is an easier, more linear watch. If you’re a fan of early 70s black cinema you almost HAVE to challenge yourself to watch this.
Take a listen and learn about a movie that might surprise you...
